Membership & Fees
USA membership must be re-newed on January of every year regardless of date of prior enrollment. Everyone joining this club must join USA Boxing for insurance coverage of both individuals and club.
USA Boxing fees effective Jan-Dec:
Athletes: $37.00 - Price reduction to $23.50 when enrolling Sept-Dec
Non-Athletes: $50.00 - Background check bi-annualy (coaches, officials and doctors)
Club fees effective Sept-May
Athletes: $225.00
- Athlete club fees are payable when joinng club. Female athletes are encouraged to join. Competitive boxing is limited to ages 8-34 years. People exceeding 34 years can compete, however competitors are few. You do not have to box, either in practice or competitively to participate in the club's training program. However, fees are still applicable.
- Howard Street begins every amateur boxing season in September, the day after labor day, continuing through the last Thursday in May.
- Workouts are Mon, Wed and Thur from 6:00-8:00 PM. Doors are open at approximately 5:30 PM. Workouts begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Workouts end at 7:50 PM so be prepared to vacate the facility by 8:00 PM.
- You will need a certified copy of your birth certificate along with two small (1 inch by 1 inch) pictures of yourself when joining club. On your first day, come to club at 5:30 PM.
- You will need a form fitted mouthpiece and handwraps. You can purchase handwraps ($10.00) and mouthpiece ($3.00) at the club or bring your own.
- Tank tops, shorts and either tennis or boxing shoes are the normal attire for workouts. Bring your own towel to remove perspiration.
- Restroom facilities and tap water are available. You may want to bring your own water bottle.
- Athletes will not spar (practice boxing) until they have been in training for 3 weeks. They will learn boxing fundamentals before stepping into the ring. Inexperienced people begin by sparring experienced boxers who will practice their defense.
- The club has 4 treadmills, 2 stationary bicycles and 1 stairstep as well as all boxing equipment necessary.
- Spectators are always welcome to view the workouts. We discourage cheering or horseplay. If you bring young people, please control their actions.
